Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the wiring harness from the wiring harness retainer located on the power steering pump reservoir.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt from the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.

  4. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.

  6. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.

  8. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts from the power steering pump.
  9. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle.
  10. Cap off the power steering pump and hoses in order to prevent contamination.
  11. Remove the power steering pump pulley from the pump. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (LA1)  or Power Steering Pulley Replacement (LY7) .
  12. Remove the power steering pump reservoir from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle (CB Series) .
