Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator bracket.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the generator bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts in sequence to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  4. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
  6. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (2.2L (L61))  or Generator Replacement (3.4L) .
  8. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counter clockwise.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
