Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during installation.

  1. Install the battery.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the battery retainer (2) and bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  3. Install the positive battery terminal (2) to the battery.
  4. Tighten the positive battery terminal nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  5. Position the positive battery cable terminal cover.
  6. Re-position and install the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .
  7. Install the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (RPO LS4)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (RPOs L26/L32) .
