Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the sunroof finishing lace. Refer to Sunroof Opening Trim Finish Lace Replacement .

  3. It is only necessary to lower the headliner. Only do those steps in headliner replacement that will lower the headliner enough to gain access to the part. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUT) or Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUV) .
  4. Remove the sunroof motor. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement .
  5. Remove the sunroof sunshade. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement .
  6. Remove the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
  7. Disconnect the front drain hoses from the sunroof module. Refer to Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the rear drain hoses from the sunroof module. Refer to Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUT)  or Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUV) .
  9. Remove the retaining nuts from the sunroof module rear brackets.
  10. Remove the retaining bolts from the sunroof module.
  11. With the aid of an assistant, remove the sunroof module assembly from the vehicle.
  12. Remove the rear brackets from the sunroof module.
