Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
    2. WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .
  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Disabling the SIR in SIR.
  3. Remove the Steering Column Trim Covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .

  4. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector (1).
  5. Remove the ignition switch to steering column assembly retaining screws (3).
  6. Remove the ignition switch (4) from the steering column assembly (2).
