Ignition Timing

The 1986 928S models use the EZF ignition which has two distributors and coils. A 4-cylinder distributor is mounted at the front of each cylinder head. The 1987 system has a single distributor housing two rotors. All timing adjustments are made by the EZF electronic control unit. No adjustment is possible with this system, however, ignition timing may be checked at idle with a timing light.
