Vehicle level sensor, front right: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE: If a vehicle level sensor or the level control module is replaced, it must be calibrated using the 9588 Porsche System Tester II.
DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE

Work instruction Display OK If not OK
1 Check wiring between front right vehicle level sensor and level control module for short circuit to B+:
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Pull plugs A and B off level control module.
  • Pull off plug on front right vehicle level control sensor.
  • Switch on ignition.
  • Measure voltage between level control module plug A 'pins 65, 76' and ground and plug B 'pin 83' and ground.
< 0.3 V
Go to Step 2
Repair or replace wiring harness.

2 Check wiring between front right vehicle level sensor and level control module for short circuit to ground:
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Measure resistance between level control module plug A 'pins 65, 76' and ground and plug B 'pin 83' and ground.

Repair or replace wiring harness.
→ End
3 Check wiring between front right vehicle level sensor and level control module for open circuit:
  • Measure resistance between level control module plug A 'pins 65, 76' and front right vehicle level control sensor plug 'pins 5, 1' and plug B 'pin 83' and front right level control sensor plug 'pin 6'.

Go to Step 4
Repair or replace wiring harness.

4 Re-calibrate level control module
Calibrating level control module, refer to 43 K2 CALIBRATION - AS OF MY 2003 (ALL MODELS EXCEPT CAYENNE S TIO TITAN) .

5 Replace front right vehicle level sensor. → End Go to Step 6
6 Replace level control module. → End
