Cooling Fan Control

The Automatic Temperature Control Module (ATCM) determines the amount of condenser cooling required from the refrigerant pressure sensor. There is a direct relationship between the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant. The cooling requirement is transmitted on the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) Power Mode Zero bus. Then this message is transmitted through the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM), onto the FlexRay circuit to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM then controls the temperature of the condenser using the cooling fan(s).
