Installing Spring Strut Mount

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive  .
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed  .
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available  .

1. Install spring strut mount and check that it fits perfectly. Check gap dimensions.

   Bonding areas

   1. 1.1 Apply adhesive on the marked area. > Application depth 3.0 mm 

      > 5X00IN21 WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE PAH.071.781.00

2. Resistance spot-weld the spring strut mount.

   1. 2.1 Plug-weld area -LHD vehicle -  using inert gas.
3. Apply a full weld to the area -Arrows-  using inert gas.

4. Plug-weld area -LHD vehicle -  using inert gas.

5. Install lower part of plenum panel.

   1. 5.1 Plug-weld the lower part of the plenum panel using inert gas.
   2. 5.2 Resistance spot-weld area -LHD vehicle -  .
6. Install reinforcements.

   1. 6.1 Apply adhesive on the marked area.

7. Resistance spot-weld the reinforcement.

   Reinforcements

   1. 7.1 Apply a full weld to the area -A and B-  using inert gas.
   2. 7.2 Stitch-weld area -Item C-  using inert gas.
8. Resistance spot-weld. Do not weld the notch again.

9. Install wing bracket.

   1. 9.1 Resistance spot-weld the wing bracket.
   2. 9.2 Apply a full weld to areas -1-  using inert gas.
10. Resistance spot-weld the spotwelds.
