SERVICE INFORMATION

A modification I.D. plate shown in Fig 1 , is fitted to all Saab 9000 models for the purpose of recording Saab recall, service campaigns or service fix modifications. Should it become necessary to stamp this plate, you will be instructed to do so.

Your dealership has already received a numeral 8 punch for this purpose and additional ones may be purchased from your Saab parts depot.

Punch 8 (3/8") - P/N 02-97-713

MARKING THE PLATE

Numbers 1-6 are only to be used by the Factory.

Number 7 is only to be used for work carried out directly by Saab-Scania of America, Inc.

Number 8 is to be used for work carried out by the dealer.

The Service Information shall specify whenever marking of the plate is necessary. The S.I. will also specify a position to be marked which is unique to the modification involved.

The example in Fig 2 , shows position A2 being stamped. Only use Figure 8.

Numbers other than numeral 8 indicate that the modification has already been performed, either at the Factory or the port-of-entry.
