Ignition Timing
- Connect tachometer and timing light. Disconnect and plug vacuum advance hose (except on 900 models), and place transmission in Neutral.
- With engine at normal operating temperature and at 850 RPM, line on flywheel must align with mark on flywheel housing.
- On the 900 models, timing is checked at 2000 RPM and distributor vacuum hose(s) connected.
- If timing is incorrect, loosen distributor retaining screws and rotate distributor housing until timing is correct. Reconnect vacuum advance hose, if disconnected. Adjust engine idle speed.
