Automatic Performance Control (APC) System

APC system is used on Turbo models only. System consists of knock detector, pressure sensor, APC system Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and wastegate solenoid valve. System monitors engine knock and varies manifold pressure applied to boost wastegate through solenoid valve. By controlling pressure at which wastegate opens, system can limit maximum boost to avoid engine damage.

• Pressure Sensor
  
  Located on bracket under left side of instrument panel. Pressure sensor receives vacuum from port on intake manifold side of throttle valve.
• Wastegate Solenoid Valve
  
  Located on bracket near radiator fan shroud. Switches intake manifold pressure to wastegate to control turbo boost pressure.
