Air Induction System: Notes

Air drawn in through air cleaner passes through mass airflow meter to turbo compressor unit (if equipped). Compressed air flows through intercooler, which cools incoming air charge, passing through throttle valve to intake manifold.

To smooth induction system pulsations during deceleration, a vacuum-operated relief valve is mounted on the side of the turbo unit. Relief valve provides an additional path for incoming air, by-passing the intercooler.
