Ignition Timing Control System: Dis

Ignition timing remains at base setting (10 degrees BTDC) until engine speed reaches 850 RPM. At engine speeds above 850 RPM, the ECU controls ignition timing. If the knock detector senses pre-ignition, engine timing and boost pressure will be retarded. If pre-ignition continues, the ECU will signal injectors to boost fuel delivery.
