Mass Airflow Meter
- Check induction system from throttle body to engine for air/vacuum leaks. Connect ISAT Scan tester according to manufacturer's instructions. Diagnostic connector is under right front seat, protected by a plastic cover. Follow instructions furnished with tester to retrieve codes. Enter command code 22A. Go to step 2) if tester does not display 802.2 at idle and 805.0 at full throttle.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from mass airflow meter. Check for continuity between harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If no continuity, repair Black wire between terminal No. 1 and ground terminal on intake manifold.
- Reconnect wiring to mass airflow meter. Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage at terminal No. 5 (Brown/White wire) on harness connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair Brown/White wire between connector and pin No. 87 of system relay.
- Enter ISAT command code 22A. Check that signal varies between 2 and 5 volts (display varies between 802.0 and 805.0) depending on load. If not, check Orange/Green wire between mass airflow meter pin No. 3 and ECU pin No. 7.
- Turn ignition off. Check for continuity between mass airflow harness connector pin No. 2 (Blue/White wire) and ECU pin No. 6. If no continuity, repair Blue/White wire.
- Clear codes and drive vehicle. If code resets, try a known good mass airflow meter. If code still resets, try a known good ECU.
