DTC B1610: Control Module Programming Error
- Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs and turn ignition off. Turn ignition on again, wait 10 seconds and observe AIR BAG warning light. If DTC B1610 reappears, go to next step.
- Using ISAT scan tool or equivalent, check if air bag system control module is programmed for one or two air bags. If programmed for two, check for other DTCs. If none are present, go to BEFORE REPLACING CONTROL MODULE . If programmed for one, reprogram control module by stepping through command menu until "Programming" is reached. Change air bag configuration to "Driver + Passenger". For further information, consult ISAT manual. Clear DTCs and turn ignition off. Turn ignition back on and verify DTC B1610 does not reappear. If DTC B1610 reappears, replace air bag system control module. IF DTC B1610 does not reappear, no other action is required. Ensure vehicle is in proper working order.
