TIP/OFF Function Check
- Ensure no voltage is present at breakout box pins No. 1, 2 and 3 when TIP button is held in depressed position. If voltage is present, check wiring for a short to voltage. If voltage is not present, go to next step.
- Disconnect cruise control switch. Put cruise control switch in OFF position. Measure resistance between cruise control switch terminal No. 4 and connector terminals No. 1, 2 and 3. If any measurement is less than one ohm, replace switch. If any measurement is greater than one ohm, go to next step.
- Check for voltage between ground and cruise control switch connector terminals No. 1, 2 and 3. If voltage is present, check wiring for short circuit to voltage. If voltage is not present and system is still defective, replace cruise control module.
