Boot lid

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

In order to avoid theft and damage to the soft top or boot lid, the STC control module restricts the possibilities to unlock the boot lid with the button in the driver's door or with the remote control.

The STC control module sends the bus message "Soft top position", unit CLOSED, IN MOTION, OPEN. The button in the door and remote control are connected to TWICE that controls opening of the boot lid.

When pressing the button in the driver's door with the ignition on and the soft top in another position than described above, the TWICE control module sends bus information "text, sound information "and SID will sound an acoustic signal and shows RAISE/LOWER SOFT TOP.

The position of the boot lid also affects the possibility of operating the soft top. TWICE sends bus information "Trunk lid" unit OPEN/CLOSED and when "OPEN", the STC control module will not allow the soft top to be operated. If the ROOF button is pressed when the boot lid is open, the STC control module will send bus information "text, sound information", whereby SID will sound an acoustic signal and display the message CLOSE TRUNK LID.
