Microswitch, soft top storage: Notes

During operation of the soft top, it is necessary that the storage bag is in its bottom position so that the soft top can fit in the space when folded down. Therefore, there are two microswitches in the folds of the soft top storage and these microswitches sense if the storage bag is in its lower position or not.

The microswitches are connected in series, so that pin 1 on the left microswitch is connected to control module pin 30 and microswitch pin 2 is connected to the right microswitch pin 1. The right microswitch pin 2 is connected to grounding point G36.

When the ignition is turned ON, the control module outputs B+ to the microswitches from pin 30 and when the soft top storage is in its bottom position on the right and left side, both microswitches are closed and the control module input is grounded.
