The power supply +30 to the luggage compartment lighting is fed via fuse 4 and DICE pin 24. The control module controls the function together with TWICE.

When the boot lid is opened, the light switch (56) in the lid lock closes. The switch is connected to TWICE, which detects whether the lid is open or closed.

TWICE outputs information about the lid status (OPEN/CLOSED) to the instrument bus and the information is read by DICE. If the lid is open, power is supplied from DICE pin 2 to the lamp (55). If the switch on the luggage compartment lamp is not closed, the lamp will not light, irrespective of the lid status according to TWICE.

When the ignition is ON, an open boot lid is indicated on the main instrument unit. The MIU receives information to light the indicator from the bus.
