A/C System Performance

  1. Park vehicle out of direct sunlight. Install A/C manifold gauge set. Close hood and all doors and windows. Start engine and allow it to idle at 1500-2000 RPM. Ensure all panel vents are fully open.
  2. Press A/C button to on position. Set A/C controls to recirculated air, panel (vent) mode, and full cold. Set fan switch to speed "4" position. Insert thermometer approximately 4.0" (100 mm) into central panel vent. Operate system for 5 minutes to allow system to stabilize and measure temperature.
  3. Temperature should be approximately 43-54°F (6-12°C) at center vent, with low-side pressures within specification. See SPECIFICATIONS  . Difference between system turn-on and turn-off temperatures should be approximately 5-11°F (3-6°C).
