To fit

Fit the side panel bracket.
Fit the seat wiring harness and fix it.
Electric seat: Plug in the connectors on the electric motors.
Fit the side airbag.
Tightening torque 5 Nm (4 lbf ft)

Insert the side airbag cable into the wiring harness and plug in the side airbag connector to the seat connector.
Fit the clip holding the cable for the side airbag.

Fit the seat belt buckle.
Tightening torque 37 Nm (27 lbf ft)

Insert the seat belt buckle's cable in the wiring harness' T-connector and end piece and push together.

Connect the seat belt buckle's connector to the seat's connector.

Fit the protective cover.

Secure the seat belt buckle cable using a cable tie.
IMPORTANT: Take care when plugging in the connector so as not to damage or press out the pins/sleeves in the connector. For further information regarding connectors, refer to CONNECTORS, HANDLING AND INSPECTION .
Cars with memory function: Connect the DSM control module connector. Put the DSM control module into position, press on the clips and fit the bolts.

Fit the front seat cowl.

Fix the seat position sensor cable to the seat rail.
Insert the seat position sensor's mounting arms in the seat rail.
Press in the seat position sensor on the top of the seat rail.

Press in the seat position sensor's clips.
Connect the seat position sensor connector.
Plug in the connector to the loaded seat cushion sensor.

Put in place the seat cushion.
Plug in the connector to the seat heating pad.

Fit the seat upholstery hooks.

Fit the seat upholstery strips at the front and on the sides.

Seat with memory function: Plug in the connector to the memory unit.
Electric seat: Plug in the connector to the adjusting controls. Fit the side panel. Start at the front of the side panel.

Fit the side panel rear bolt and protective cover.

Fit the front R-clip to the side panel.
Manual seat: Fit the height adjustment lever and the backrest knob.

Guide the upholstery over the backrest frame. Make sure that the foam is correctly positioned over the side airbag.
Lie the seat down with the underside easily accessible.
Fit the lower edge and sides of the backrest foam.

Plug in the backrest heating pad.

Fit the lower edge of the backrest upholstery.
Fit the back of the backrest.

Fit the upholstery strips along the edges of the back of the backrest frame.

Stand the seat upright.
Fit the lumbar support wheel.

Fit the guides for the head restraint. Make sure that the catch inside the guide engages correctly.

Insert the head restraint and push it all the way down. Make sire the head restraint's legs are kept parallel.
Check the function of the catches.
Carefully lift in and position the seat. Tip the seat forward.
Plug in the connector on the seat.

Connect the negative battery cable and fit the battery cover.
Set the seat in its correct position. Be careful that the fitting hooks locate themselves correctly into their brackets, and fit the rear retaining bolts. Use 74 96 268 Thread locking adhesive.
Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 lbf ft)
Fit the seatbelt mounting and cover to the seat.
Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 lbf ft)

Restore the car.
