To fit
- Hold the rack in place with a 21 mm open spanner and tighten the track rod using CLAW FOOT SPANNER 89 96 837
.
Tightening torque: 80 Nm (59 lbf ft)
- Refit the dust excluder on the track rod and steering gear housing. Fit new clips use PLIERS 30 16 235
to secure them.
When changing the track rod on the opposite side from the pinion, fit a new hose clip to the dust excluder by the pinion.
- Refit the steering gear, see TO FIT .
