Remove the MacPherson strut and clamp it in a vice.
Compress the spring using SPRING COMPRESSOR 88 18 791 and HOLDER 88 18 817 .
Grip the piston rod to prevent it from turning and remove the nut, using tool 89 96 613 . The nut is of self-locking type and must not be reused.

Remove the bearing and upper spring seat.

Remove the spring, rubber gaiter and compression stop.
