To remove

Remove the Propeller shaft .
Aut: Drain the fluid through the level pipe.
Man: Drain the gearbox of oil.
Remove SUBFRAME, B284, 4WD .

Remove FRONT WING LINER .
Unload the belt tensioner and unhook the belt (B). Use a 1/2" puller handle.

Tap the drive shaft out from the intermediate shaft, use a brass drift and mallet (C). Move the drive shaft aside.

WARNING: Use protective goggles to protect against flying splinters of metal.
Remove the alternator's electrical connections (A).

Remove the alternator's retaining bolts (B). If necessary, push the engine to the left slightly.
Move the alternator out.
Remove the rear torque rod bracket (A).

Remove the support bracket (B) from the transfer case.

Support the transfer case with a column jack, and secure with cable ties.

Remove the transfer case (C).

Lower and ease out the transfer case.
IMPORTANT: Be careful that the servo pipe does not get damaged.
