Code 32 - Transaxle Temperature Hot (Circuit Grounded): Description
PCM supplies a 5 volt signal to transaxle temperature sensor. As transaxle temperature increases, sensor value should decrease. PCM monitors the voltage change on an internal circuit. If engine is running for at least 1/2 minute, and PCM detects a transaxle temperature greater than 284°F (140°C) with engine coolant temperature below 212°F (100°C), PCM will set code 32.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- This step checks if code 31 is still present. If "Scan" tool temperature reading is less than 284°F (140°C), problem is intermittent.
- This step duplicates conditions for code 31. If PCM sets a code 31 and/or "Scan" tool reads less than -35°F (-37°C), PCM and wiring are okay. If PCM and wiring are okay, replace sensor. If PCM does not set a code 31 and/or "Scan" tool reads greater than -35°F (-37°C), check for shorted circuits or replace PCM.
