Clutch Assembly: Inspection
- Place a straightedge across pressure plate face and check for warpage using a feeler gauge. Discard pressure plate if warpage exceeds .006" (.15 mm).
- Inspect flywheel ring gear for broken teeth. Replace as required. Check flywheel face for chatter marks and evidence of overheating. Resurface or replace as necessary.
- Using a micrometer, measure flywheel thickness. Minimum thickness is 1.1" (28 mm). If flywheel thickness is less than minimum, replace flywheel. Using a dial indicator, measure flywheel runout. Maximum runout is .006" (.15 mm). If flywheel runout exceeds maximum, replace flywheel.
