Brake Warning Indicator Always On
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Disconnect brake fluid level switch connector at master cylinder. If BRAKE warning indicator stays on, go to step 3).
- If BRAKE warning indicator goes out, check for short to ground in circuit (Tan/White wire) between terminal "B" of brake fluid level switch connector and brake warning light. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace brake fluid level switch.
- Disconnect parking brake switch connector. If BRAKE warning indicator goes out, replace parking brake switch. If BRAKE warning indicator stays on, check for short to ground in circuit (Tan/White wire) between BRAKE warning indicator and parking brake switch, brake fluid level switch and between BRAKE warning indicator and ABS controller (if equipped). Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace instrument cluster.
