Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor: Installation

  1. On Cavalier, install sensor and fasteners. Torque to 89 INCH Lbs. (10 N.m.). Replace defroster grille, instrument panel topper pad, and end caps. Reactivate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning correctly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
  2. On Sunfire, install sensor and fasteners. Torque to 89 INCH Lbs. (10 N.m.). Replace instrument panel topper pad and accessory trim plate (radio/hvac). Replace glove box trim strip and instrument panel end caps. Reactivate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning correctly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
