Sir Coil Assembly: Removal
- Set front wheels in straight-ahead position and turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. Refer to the SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Remove air bag the module and steering wheel. Refer to AIR BAG (INFLATOR) MODULE and STEERING WHEEL .
- Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds. See Figure. Disconnect SIR coil assembly electrical connector. To prevent coil assembly from rotating, insert Yellow tab (if available) into coil assembly, or securely tape coil assembly in present position. Remove coil assembly from shaft.
