Code 35, Discriminating Sensor Open: Description
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 1993 Saturn SW2, 1993 Saturn SW1, 1993 Saturn SL2, 1993 Saturn SL1, and 1993 Saturn SL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Code 35 will set if voltage at the SENSE LOW input, DERM terminal A6, is within a specific range of 36-VLR output voltage for 500 milliseconds during CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests performed by DERM. The CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests are performed by the DERM after the initial TURN-ON tests, and then every 100 milliseconds while IGN 1 voltage is present at DERM terminals A3 and B3. If one of the discriminating sensors is open, the voltage at the SENSE LOW input will increase due to the increase in the resistance of the discriminating sensor section of the deployment loop and Code 35 will set.
