Trouble Shooting: Notes
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See the COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES
article in the GENERAL INFORMATION section before disconnecting battery.
CAUTION:
Electronic components used in control systems are designed for very low voltages. As little as a 30-volt charge created by static electricity can cause a total or degrading failure in control module or other electronic components containing integrated circuits. Before servicing control module, ground yourself and ground the work area to discharge stored electricity.
Before performing following trouble shooting procedures, ensure all ground connections, wiring, and fuses are okay. Locate and repair any mechanical binding. Also, ensure all connections are clean and tight. See Figure and Fig 1 for component and connector locations.
