Deck Lid/Liftgate Inoperative/Lock & Unlock Functions Are OK

  1. Use transmitter and check deck lid/liftgate release. If deck lid/liftgate releases, go to step 3). If deck lid/liftgate does not release, measure voltage between RKE module terminal "G" (Gray wire) and ground. Press deck lid/liftgate button on one transmitter. If battery voltage is present when deck lid/liftgate button is pressed, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present when deck lid/liftgate button is pressed, replace RKE module. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Measure voltage between deck lid/liftgate release motor Gray wire and ground. Press deck lid/liftgate button on one transmitter. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit or short to ground in Gray wire. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  . If battery voltage is present, check voltage at motor. If voltage is okay, repair open circuit in motor Black wire. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  .
  3. Measure voltage between RKE module connector terminal "H" (Black wire) and ground. Manually pull deck lid/liftgate release switch up. If battery voltage is present when manual deck lid/liftgate release switch is pulled up, replace RKE module. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  . If battery voltage is not present when manual deck lid/liftgate release switch is pulled up, measure voltage between manual release switch Orange wire and ground.
  4. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit in Orange wire. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  . If battery voltage is present, check manual deck lid/liftgate switch resistance. Switch resistance should be less than 10 ohms with switch closed and infinite with switch open. If switch is okay, repair open circuit in Black wire. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK  .
