"J" Body (Column Shift)

Turn lock cylinder to RUN position. Place gearshift lever in Park position. Unlock park lock cable locking tab at linear shift base adapter. See Figure. Push and hold cable housing toward gearshift lever. Turn lock cylinder to OFF-LOCK position and pull key halfway out. Release cable housing and allow park lock cable to balance out. Lock cable locking tab. If system does not operate as specified, repeat adjustment procedure.

NOTE: Ensure park lock cable locking tab is fully seated into ignition cylinder lock housing. Replace cable if lock tab is damaged.
