Removal & Installation (1.0L)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove distributor cap. See Figure. Mark distributor housing-to-engine position and distributor rotor-to-distributor housing position for installation reference. Disconnect distributor harness connector. Remove 2 distributor flange bolts. Remove distributor.
- DO NOT rotate crankshaft with distributor removed, or reference marks will be incorrect. To install distributor, use reference marks and reverse removal procedure. Install 2 distributor flange bolts. Do not fully tighten flange bolts until timing is set. See IGNITION TIMING in appropriate ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
