Strut Assembly: Reassembly
- Check rubber boot, spring and dust shield assembly for cracks, damage and deterioration. Check strut for smoothness by extending and retracting. Replace as necessary. Place strut into strut spring compressor. Fully extend strut shaft. Install dust shield assembly, spring, rubber boot and upper spring support.
- Ensure spring is properly seated into upper spring support. Compress spring enough so strut shaft nut can be installed. While holding strut shaft nut, tighten strut shaft to specification with a No. 50 Torx bit. Release spring compressor, and remove strut assembly.
