Section 12 (Power Hatch And Fuel Door Release): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remote hatch/trunk release feature is standard on all models. On coupe models, hatch release system allows rear hatch to be opened using a rear compartment lid release switch. On convertible and hardtop models, hatch/trunk release system allows rear trunk lid to be opened using a rear compartment lid release switch. On all models, release switch is part of foglight/rear compartment lid/hatch release switch located on instrument panel, to left of steering column. Rear hatch/trunk may also be opened by Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module. RFA module receives signals electronically from Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. In the event of an electrical malfunction, hatch/trunk may be opened by using manual release cables located under carpet in rear center of storage compartment. See MANUAL RELEASE  under OPERATION.

Fuel filler door release switch is located in center console storage compartment. In the event of an electrical malfunction, fuel filler door may also be released by a manual release cable located in rear compartment, against driver's side upper trim.

On convertible models, the folding top compartment lid is released by button under lid behind driver's seatback. Depressing this button releases top compartment lid. In the event of an electrical malfunction, folding top compartment lid may be opened by using manual release cable located under carpet behind extension between seats.
