Remote Keyless Entry

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system consists of Body Control Module (BCM) and 2 transmitters. BCM can be programmed with up to 4 transmitters. Transmitter sends a signal to BCM when LOCK, UNLOCK, DECKLID/LIFTGATE (vehicle symbol) or PANIC (horn symbol) button is depressed. BCM interprets signal, decodes it, and activates required circuitry to provide requested function. RKE module range is up to 26 feet (8 meters).

When UNLOCK button on RKE transmitter is depressed once, unlocks driver's door and dome light will illuminates for 20 seconds or until ignition switch is turned to RUN position (with dome light in DOOR position). Daytime Running Lamps (DLR) will flash twice. If depressed twice within 5 seconds, remaining doors will unlock and DLR will flash twice. Security system is disabled when UNLOCK button is depressed. This is confirmed by 2 horn chirps if chirp mode is enabled. If horn chirps 3 times when UNLOCK or LOCK buttons are pressed, then alarm system was activated.

When LOCK button is depressed on RKE transmitter, all doors will lock, DLR will flash once and dome light will remain illuminated for 2 seconds after doors are closed. Security system will arm, depending on selected mode.

When DECKLID/LIFTGATE RELEASE button on RKE transmission is depressed, deck lid or liftgate will unlock when ignition is off and or vehicle is stationary. Dome light will illuminate for 20 seconds, or until ignition switch is turned to RUN position. DLR will flash twice and security system will disarm until truck or liftgate is opened, and then closed.

When Red PANIC button on RKE transmitter is depressed, horn will sound and dome light will flash for 2 minutes, or until PANIC button is depressed again, whichever occurs first.
