Removal & Installation

- Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL . Remove snap ring and SIR coil assembly. Remove wave washer.
- Compress lock shield assembly using Lock Plate Compressor (J-23653). Remove snap ring. Remove lock plate compressor. Slide lock shield assembly, cancel cam and upper bearing spring off steering shaft.
- Release wire harness clip and tie wraps. Depress top and bottom clips on pivot and pulse switch assembly and remove switch from column. Remove 3 retaining screws and remove steering column lock assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.
