Strut Assembly: Disassembly

    WARNING: Strut spring is under extreme pressure. Do not remove strut shaft nut without first compressing strut spring.
  1. Mount Strut Spring Compressor (SA9155S) in holding fixture, and place strut assembly into spring compressor. Secure strut assembly to spring compressor using strut-to-knuckle bolt. Compress spring enough to unload upper spring supports. While holding strut shaft with a No. 50 Torx bit, remove strut shaft nut.
  2. Release spring compressor, and tilt strut assembly outward. Remove upper spring support and rubber boot. Remove spring and dust shield assembly.
