Final Assembly
- Install axle shaft seal into converter housing. Lightly lubricate and install remaining case bolts. See Fig 10
. Ensure flat surface on manual valve faces up. Lightly lubricate valve body mounting bolts.
- Install valve body mounting bolts into valve body. Ensure dowel bolts are correctly installed. See Figure
and Figure
. Line up manual valve with valve link. Lower valve body onto transaxle case. Tighten line actuator cover bolts in sequence to specification. See Fig 11
. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Tighten valve body-to-transaxle case bolts to specification. See Fig 12
.
- Install park/neutral position switch (if not already installed). Move parking pawl to "D" position. PNP position switch should have continuity. See Fig 13
. Rotate switch to obtain continuity. Tighten park/neutral position switch attaching bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Install oil pan and bolts. Tighten oil pan bolts in a crisscross pattern to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Install pressure filter, temperature sensor, turbine speed sensor, vehicle speed sensor and dipstick tube.
- Install input shaft "O" ring seal in groove behind spiral ring (back-up ring). If "O" ring is installed next to input shaft splines, "O" ring will roll off and remain in torque converter. This will cause transaxle to have no TCC application. See Fig 14
. Using Expander (SA9135T), install spiral ring to input shaft. See Fig 15
. Install "O" ring to torque converter, and install torque converter. See Figure
. Recheck torque converter end play.
