DTC P0719: Brake Switch Circuit High: Description

The brake switch indicates brake pedal status to PCM. Brake switch is normally open. Battery voltage is supplied to PCM brake switch input circuit (terminal No. 35) when brake is applied. Scan tool should display APPLIED when brake pedal is depressed and RELEASED when brake pedal is released. PCM monitors brake switch input for low and high voltage faults under certain conditions. DTC sets when vehicle has accelerated a set number of times and voltage at PCM remains high, indicating brake pedal is always being applied.
