Removal And Installation: Radiator: Installation

  1. Install upper radiator to condenser gasket on radiator.

  2. Install radiator lower mounting pins into rubber mounts.

  3. Position upper radiator mounts over upper pins and install radiator bracket to rail bolts. Tighten radiator bracket-to-rail bolts to 6 N.m (53 in-lbs). See Figure.
    WARNING: Make sure vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned on hoist.
  4. Raise vehicle.
  5. Position condenser tabs under radiator tabs and install condenser to radiator bolts. Tighten condenser-to-radiator bolts to 4 N.m (35 in-lbs).

  6. Install lower radiator to condenser gasket if removed.
  7. Install liquid line clamp to condenser bolt. Tighten liquid line clamp-to-condenser bolt to 4 N.m (35 in-lbs).
  8. Install condenser block to radiator end tank bolt. Tighten condenser block-to-radiator end tank bolt to 4 N.m (35 in-lbs). See Figure.
  9. Lower vehicle.
  10. On automatic transaxle vehicles only, remove cap and install lower transmission cooler line to radiator end tank. Tighten lower transmission cooler line-to-radiator end tank to 25 N.m (18 ft-lbs). See Figure.
    NOTE: White line on hose should be installed at 12 o'clock position.
  11. Install lower radiator hose to radiator fitting. See Figure.
  12. Install clamp at 11 o'clock position.
  13. Remove condenser support wire or plastic tie.
  14. Install fan and shroud assembly onto radiator lower tabs.
    NOTE: Verify that the pusher fan electrical harness is not between the fan shroud and the radiator.
  15. Install fan shroud to radiator bolts. Tighten puller fan shroud-to-radiator bolts to 4 N.m (35 in-lbs). See Figure.
  16. Perform the following steps on automatic transaxle vehicles only.
    1. Remove cap and install upper transmission oil cooler line to radiator end tank.
    2. Snap upper transmission oil cooler line into end tank retainer. Tighten upper transmission cooler line-to-radiator end tank to 25 N.m (18 ft-lbs). See Figure.
  17. Install forward wiring harness into retaining clamps. See Figure.
  18. Route pusher fan electrical harness around outside of radiator end tank to upper fan shroud.
  19. Install fan electrical connectors into connector retainers as shown. See Figure.
  20. Connect both fan electrical connectors.
  21. Install wiring harness into shroud retaining clamp.
  22. Install pusher fan harness into routing tabs on fan shroud.
  23. Install upper radiator hose to radiator end tank and position clamp at 12 o'clock. See Figure.
  24. Install battery.
