Oil Cooler Replacement: Removal

  1. Remove coolant bridge.

  2. Remove oil feed line from engine oil cooler.
  3. Remove return line from engine oil cooler.
  4. Take note of the four seals.
    WARNING: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.
  5. Raise and support vehicle.
  6. Remove oil filter housing.
  7. Remove crank sensor bolt.
  8. Remove crank sensor.
  9. Remove engine oil cooler line clamp.

  10. Remove oil feed line from the engine block.

  11. Remove return line from the engine block.
  12. Remove oil feed line.
  13. Remove return line.
  14. Lower vehicle.
  15. Remove engine oil cooler inlet and outlet nuts.
  16. Remove engine oil cooler cover bolts.
  17. Remove engine oil cooler.
  18. Clean all sealing surfaces.
