Disabling System (Eldorado)

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position. Remove key from ignition switch.
  2. Remove SIR fuse from rear fuse block. Rear fuse block is located in trunk, behind rear seat. Wait one minute. Remove driver-side sound insulator. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect Yellow 2-pin SIR connector at base of steering column. See Figure.
  3. Remove right sound insulator. Reach up inside instrument panel and remove connector from sheet metal. Connector is attached to sheet metal on right side of instrument panel compartment. See Figure. Remove CPA clip and disconnect Yellow 2-pin SIR connector.
