J 43877  Lock Cyliner Holding Fixture and Staking Tool

    IMPORTANT: The ignition lock cylinder reads the key cut positions 2-10.
    IMPORTANT: The tumbler springs may fall out of the lock cylinder when the tumbler retainer plate is removed.
  1. Remove the tumbler retainer plate by carefully prying with a thin bladed screwdriver.
  2. Remove the tumbler springs and tumblers.

  4. Select the correct tumblers for the desired code by the number stamped on the tumbler.

  6. Install the tumblers and tumbler springs.

  8. Place a new tumbler retainer plate into position and stake into the ignition lock cylinder with the Saturn J 43877  .
    1. Clamp the staking tool holding fixture into a vise.
    2. Place the lock cylinder into the staking tool holding fixture.
    3. Tighten the retaining screw.
    4. Stake the retainer plate with a punch. Refer to Fig 4.
  9. To check the coding of the cylinder, inset the key. If the coding is correct, the sidebar will be flush with the cylinder with the key inserted.
  10. For assembly, oil the lock set with a light oil or graphite lubricant.
