Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  3. Pull back the upper weatherstrip from the rear of the window. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window .
  4. Remove the lower rear window run channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement - Front Door .
  5. Remove the manual lock rod.

  6. Remove the inside door handle with the actuator rod from the latch mechanism.
  7. Use a permanent marker to mark the lock cylinder rod to latch mechanism relationship for correct reinstallation.
  8. Remove the latch/lock mechanism from the door.
  9. Slide the lock rod off the lock cylinder arm.
  10. Remove the power door lock electrical connector and the 2 actuator rods from the latch mechanism.
  11. Remove the screws from the latch.
  12. Remove the latch with the lock rod from the door.
  13. Remove the lock rod from the latch mechanism.
