Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Saturn Ion Red Line, 2005 Saturn Ion 3, 2005 Saturn Ion 2, and 2005 Saturn Ion 1. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Move the stabilizer bar into position from the right side of the vehicle.
  2. Install the stabilizer bushings on the stabilizer bar with the cut line facing rearward.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the stabilizer bar clamps and bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  4. Connect the stabilizer links to the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  5. Install the steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Gear Replacement in Power Steering.
  6. Install the rear transaxle mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Rear in Manual Transmission - Getrag 5 Speed, or Transmission Mount Replacement - Rear in Manual Transmission - MU3, or Transmission Mount Replacement - Rear in Automatic Transaxle - 4T40-E/4T45-E.
  7. Install the front wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
