Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inflator bracket tabs in the slots in the upper lock pillar sheet metal.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the inflator fastener.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    3. IMPORTANT: Pull up on each snap-in fastener without depressing the locking tab to verify that the fastener is installed correctly.
  3. Install the rear tether snap-in fastener. Ensure that the fastener locks in place.

  4. Install the remaining snap-in fasteners.
  5. Install the tether channel push-in fastener.

  6. Install the front tether snap-in fastener. Ensure that the fastener locks in place.

  7. Connect the electrical connector on the inflator.
  8. Install the electrical connector CPA.
  9. Install the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement (w/ Sunroof) or Headliner Replacement (w/o Sunroof) in Interior Trim.
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 (Coupe)  or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 (Sedan)  or to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 (Coupe)  or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 (Sedan) .
