Differential Case Assemble
Tools Required
- 87-92-210 Differential Bearing Support. See Special Tools and Equipment .
- SA9120T Differential Bearing Installer. See Special Tools and Equipment .
- SA9172G Ball Detent Handle. See Special Tools and Equipment .
- Assemble the differential gear assembly by installing the differential case (320) to ring gear (307) using 12 ring gear to case bolts (306).
Tighten: Tighten the ring gear to case bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) plus 90 degrees.
An option for limited slip differential or open differential exists for some models. See inset. Both differential assemblies are serviced only as a complete assembly. The bolts, ring gear and tapered roller bearings are serviceable components.
- Press the differential bearings onto the differential assembly using the SA9120T and the SA9172G . See Special Tools and Equipment . Use the 87-92-210 under the differential as shown. See Special Tools and Equipment .
- To change the differential bearing races, refer to Clutch Housing Assemble and Transaxle Case Disassemble or Transaxle Case Assemble .
